The Design Guy is our new easy to remember branding name. While we used SD & D Designs for over twenty years, the name did not reflect our us in the manner we needed.

We use the latest 3D CAD technology to create videos of your project and use online meetings to save your valuable time after our initial meeting.

We specialize in 3d residential design to homeowners for new construction, remodeling and additions. Ken Latham, CPBD, owner of The Design Guy has achieved the credentials of Certified Professional Building Designer and has over 20 years experience in the building industry. Most of our clients call us a residential architect. Ken has written a structural design examination given nationally by the National Council of Building Designer Certification (NCBDC), and is a past national vice-president of the organization.

You can feel comfortable knowing we bring a diverse and up to date knowledge to your project. We attend many hours of educational classes, product seminars and architectural tours, in order to have the information you will need to make important decisions during the design process. We even attend the national home builders’ show each year throughout the country to keep up to date with the latest products and ideas. In addition, we are able to utilize a wide variety of design resources from many professional builders, product representatives, and cutting edge technologies in the effort to serve you better. Our objective is to meet all of the codes and have the building permit issued on the first submittal.

As a team, we offer you the most creative and structurally sound design solutions all at a reasonable price. We are fortunate to have a Certified Professional Building Designers (CPBD) on staff. Most other firms are one-man operations which lack the multiple points of view and can slow the process. Since 1990 our designs have been built in many popular neighborhoods. Our drawings have been seen in many Parade of Homes over the past 18 years and have won numerous awards. One home won five awards including BEST CURB APPEAL, BEST KITCHEN, GOLD AWARD and REALTORS CHOICE AWARD.
